Hello Friends and “Farm”ily,
I hope this week's newsletter finds you all well. :)
Whew, I have never been so happy to not see any triple digit days in the 10 day forecast! Sure some high 90s are sprinkled in there, but compared to the scorcher days we have already melted through 90 degrees sounds like a cool ocean breeze! This summer sure has been a hot one and Michael and I have learned some valuable lessons about keeping our plants, ourselves, and our business healthy and sustainable.
Unfortunately, our garden is experiencing some serious shock after being exposed to such extreme temperatures for such a long period of time so sorry if we have a lighter amount of certain farm stand favorites (tomatoes/greens). One of the most valuable lessons farming has taught us is a deep level of patience. Each season comes with a new set of highs and lows and with each season we find new ways to learn from and fully appreciate our farm.
Here is a beautiful, timely, and hopeful message about the interconnectivity of all things...
“There is only one side. Just us folks here, all just trying to live life as best we can. There is no us and them. There is only us. We — all of us who occupy this planet: organic and inorganic; living and not; past, present, and future — are the world. We are all in this together, inextricably bound on our beautiful blue planet. We are one family, one community, one world, one living, breathing entity. And the sooner we realize it, the happier, safer and saner we will be. Now is the time to create healthy, functioning networks and to be good to one another.”
Be good sweet folks,
We hope to see you soon!
<3 Shanon and Michael
